It's a hard job but somebody has to do it.
It was time to visit a children's home and play, play, play. This Easter was somewhat different than all of the years past. We went to Sunday morning services at Mololoa and grabbed lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. We brought Oneida and the kids with us. After lunch we all loaded up to head out to Didesco children's home with the group in from Belpre Church of Christ. They had brought Easter eggs (plastic candy filled eggs) with them from the states and we were going to have a giant Easter egg hunt. One word describes it best FUN.
We spent a little while playing and loving the children when we first got there. Pushing them on swings, being pushed on swings. Running around, talking, laughing, just playing. Then everyone was rounded up and sent inside while the group hid the eggs. It was so much fun knowing that the kids were bursting with excitement to get outside. The eggs were hid in many places some easy to find on the ground, others on the playground swings and slides some in trees, one in a hole on top of a giant frog, there was even one hidden on an unsuspecting person. With the eggs hidden and the children breaking free the race was on. Children running, screaming and laughing with joy and excitement. Grabbing eggs and putting them in their bags, climbing trees, running up the slides, looking under bushes, they were everywhere at once. Fabs was the "Egg Police". She made sure that the older ones who had full bags gave some to the younger ones.
After the eggs were found most everyone(there are always a few who search and search for the one that might have been overlooked) sat around opening up each little egg as if it were a treasure. We all sat with them and shared the joy and excitement of finding a special piece of candy in a plastic egg with them.
Well we were not yet through filling them up with sugar yet, so we broke out the cotton candy and popcorn machines. Can you imagine how the adults there feel? We swoop down with mountains of candy, cottoncandy and popcorn. Get everyone all excited running, screaming and playing and then we leave them to deal with the sugar high and crash. Even so the people are always so thankful and welcoming to us. They thank us for coming time and again. We try to tell them that it is our privilege to get to come and play with the kids.
Like I said it's a hard job but somebody has to do it.

Good article! I noticed on the photos that Dadasko painted the palyground we built last year. Awesome, it looks really good! I am sure the Easter egg hunt was especially fun. Can't wait to see you guys!
