Palmetto Church of Christ ladies group sent our kitchen ladies a very special gift. The Gift of comfort.

Now when you talk about a church group sending comfort you are not usually talking about a pair of shoes but in this case we are and what a comfort they are.

Our ladies work for about 7 hours on their feet on concrete everyday with rarely taking a minute to sit down. They are required to wear closed toe shoes. Well the only shoes that they could afford are the cheapest quality with no cushion and zero arch support.

Well while Kath and Julia were working they noticed this and a plan began to take form. When they went home they along with their women’s group began to pray for us here (thank you) and to shop for Crocs.

They were able to hook up with Jen and she brought them home along with matching bandanas.

What a day we had. It is also our one year anniversary so we had a double celebration. Xiomare read a letter in Spanish from Kath to the group, it was wonderful and they enjoyed hearing about your life and knowing that you haven’t forgotten them.

They also received a card with all of their names on it and I can tell you that was the biggest hit by far, I never heard so much laughter and the teasing, that went on was a wonderful way to spend a rainy afternoon.

So it was time for the shoes and instead of us passing them out I decided on a fashion show. It was a lot of laughs but most of the women were so shy they couldn’t even look at the camera, but they were all in on the cheers for on another.

Bryan was a great sport and modeled Lupes for us as she wasn’t there.

We had a terrific time, the card hangs in a place of honor on the frig and the ladies feel so much better at the end of the day, not near as many complaints about knees hurting or back aches.

Once again we send out a super big thank you to our special friends for sending a little love and comfort our way.
