Felix:
I knew as soon as I saw that name we would be in trouble. We have a cat that still lives in the states named Felix. He is a beautiful white cat with green eyes. He is also really big. He will come over to you and rub around your legs and meow to be petted. He is such a love, until you walk away and then he turns into a tiger and pounces on your legs with claws and teeth. I have even seen adults run from this cat.
So I started to watch Felix and I hope the storm is more of a kitty cat than a tiger but like my Felix I worry it is a little of both.
First of all Thank you for all of the emails and calls; I know that as many prayers are going up as rain is coming down. It means so much to us. I want to assure everyone that we will take no unnecessary risk and will make every effort to stay in touch. We have registered with the US Embassy. We have secured our home and made all necessary preparations. Food, Grill, Batteries, candles, mosquito spray (Dengue Fever is becoming epidemic here 1600 new cases last week) we have filled all water containers, purchased plenty of bleach, got cash from the bank and filled up the cars. Remember we are old hands at this. As I was reminded the other day I seem to attract Hurricanes.
The main difference is the lack of “back -up” I know we complain about Fema and the government but I am here to tell you that knowing there will be no food, clean water, ice and blue tarps handed out for free as soon as the storm ends adds a real appreciation for what the US has.
But I may not have back up but I do have lift up. I know that we are all being lifted up in prayers every minute of the day.
The rain is our biggest problem. The storm will break up over the mountains but we really need it to move fast so we get as little rain as possible.
We have closed the kitchen for tomorrow and I have done everything I can to prepare the church and classroom as an emergency shelter. Randy is still digging dirt that is posing a major threat to a few families. He worked late late last night and began again today pray for our strength as we are tired.
I will do everything possible to keep in touch.
We love you all thank you and God bless

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the people of Honduras. I know that God will watch over you....
We have major prayer chains going for you all. Also, it was such a relief that Jordan got thru to Randy today. We pray God will move the storm thru quickly & that we can look back & laugh at the worry we all gave in to. Love to you & my girls that you kidnapped!!
